American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 A number of resources are available for seeking additional information regarding the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Otherwise known as “stimulus funding”, the ARRA makes available federal funding to a variety of existing programs either through entitlements, appropriations to states, or competitive grants. For more information on ARRA, go to www.recovery.gov. The National Association of Development Organizations provides links to various announcements and funding opportunities related to the ARRA. Go to www.nado.org/legaffair/issupdate/stimulus.php to see announcements by release date. The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) provides a link to the various federal agencies and their funding opportunities. Go to ARC’s web site at www.arc.gov/recovery to find stimulus funding opportunities issued by federal agencies related to health, infrastructure, education, telecommunications, and energy. Grants.gov is the web site that lists funding opportunities from federal agencies. Go to the following link: www.grants.gov/applicants/find_grant_opportunities.jsp to seek information specific to federal funding. Kentucky at Work is the Commonwealth’s “go to” web site for information on the state’s ARRA funding. For additional information, go to kentuckyatwork.ky.gov. In addition, Kentucky Infrastructure Authority and Kentucky Division of Water will be publishing the Economic Recovery Funding priority list when it is made available for water and wastewater projects that were submitted to Division of Water by local entities for consideration of stimulus funding.
